Born out of passion for original design and the desire to create products for every home, this international brand was ready to uplift their site experience with a move to Shopify Plus. With a large assortment of products and designers in their catalogue, Umbra required a lot of information to be presented to visitors in a digestible way.
Our goal was to improve the customer journey with an intuitive shopping flow that gave visitors a clear sense of where each click landed them. By reorganizing the structure of the site, users have a clear path to follow to find what they’re looking for – whether that’s a designer or a specific product – ultimately reducing the time spent searching around the site.
What We Worked On
With a large assortment of products in their catalogue, Umbra has a unique opportunity to stand out in how shoppers find what they need. We transitioned to a strong search app that gives them the ability to filter easily, and focused on creating collection pages that show shoppers relevant products with enough information they feel encouraged to click through to product pages.
To prevent an overwhelming amount of content on product pages, we focused on condensing descriptions and using tabs to present important product information (like dimensions) in a digestible way. We also gave stronger prominence to related items shoppers might be interested in to encourage them to keep shopping.
With a high cart drop-off rate, we moved to add quick pay options, while also calling out customer-centric policies like shipping and return policies throughout the site so shoppers aren’t surprised when they hit checkout.
Thanks to Shopify Plus, Umbra cloned multiple stores with ease, allowing them to seamlessly sell in various countries.
