Data to design: Turning Kris Nations’ PDP insights into higher conversions

Kris Nations engaged Fuel Made for a CRO audit where we delivered direction, advice, and fully designed mockups of their conversion funnel. We reviewed heat maps, data from Google Analytics, Shopify metrics, and discovery with the client to identify areas for improvement. These are just a few of the recommendations we shared with Kris Nations (the overall report was 50+ pages—full of improvements backed by data).

The challenge

Overwhelming content hierarchy

A significant amount of long-form content was placed above the Add to Cart button on Kris Nations’ original PDPs. While this content is informative and helpful for users, it can be overwhelming and prevent shoppers from making a quick purchase.

Underutilized engagement elements

Important conversion drivers like reviews, color swatches, and upsells were buried or missing entirely, leading to lost opportunities for discovery and social proof.

Our approach

Recommendations above the fold

We added thumbnail images for better navigation, arrow indicators to improve accessibility, visible product reviews near the price, and color swatches to replace text-only variant options. Now shoppers can easily match up the variant name with the exact color they see in the product images.

Improved readability for product details

We left-aligned content to create a more natural reading flow and moved longer descriptions below the Add to Cart button inside an accordion menu. This gave shoppers a faster path to purchase while still providing details when they were ready to dive deeper.

Direct conversion improvements

We surfaced shipping information near the Add to Cart button to help reduce cart abandonment rates. We also added coordinated product upsells (like matching bracelets and earrings) directly under the main product to increase AOV.
